Michael

Should I talk to the police without an attorney? The short
answer is no. The truth is, if you make a statement to police
that is helpful to you, it is not admissible, and statements are
ONLY admissible if they are harmful to your case. In addition,
statements to law enforcement are not always interpreted
correctly by the police. It is always better to have a trained
attorney by your side. All one has to say is “no disrespect
officer, I would like to have an attorney present before I
answer any questions”. If you are arrested, the truth is, they
were going to arrest you anyway. Law enforcement just wanted to
obtain a statement to use against you in the future.
